Quicktime & Tiff Decompressor 4 Photoshop?

When I try to cut and paste a jpg file from preview to photoshop, I get "Quicktime and a TIFF (uncompressed) decompressor are needed to see this picture" - What the #$@!.. I am running CS2 Premium on the new MacBook w/ OSX 10.4.8.
Please Help!?
